The Widescan II dual-frequency (100 and 325 KHz) analog sidescan was made by Ultra Electronics, of Weymouth, England. It is a high-reliability sonar system derived from Ultra's Minescan sonar originally developed for NATO naval requirements. While no longer in production, the Widescan II is still supported by Ultra Electronics, and many systems are in usage worldwide.
OIC supports the Widescan II sidescan (analog output) via GeoDAS-GA, providing a full control, logging and real-time processing solution. Logging the Widescan II data as digital records allows post-acquisition processing and mosaic productions providing a full control, logging and real-time processing solution. For details, see the GeoDAS section.
