COUNTESS OF URNE IN PORTLAND HARBOR, UK
- The Widescan II dual-frequency (100 and 325 KHz) analog sidescan was made by Ultra
Electronics, of Weymouth, England.
- Widescan II Analog sidescan image of the Countess of Urne, in Portland Harbor.
- Sidescan data were processed at 10-cm resolution in GeoDAS-Desktop and map annotations
were added in ER Mapper.
Below are data samples we currently have for OIC-supported analog sidescan sonars.

ORKNEY ISLANDS, UK
- The C-MAX CM 800 sidescan is made by C-MAX Ltd., of Dorset, UK.
- Shown is sidescan sonar mosaic of data acquired off the Orkney Islands, by Matt French
of Fathoms, Inc.
ALA WAI CHANNEL, HONOLULU, HI
- The EG&G 272/260 dual frequency, analog sidescan was manufactured by EG&G Marine
Instruments of Massachusetts, USA.
- EG&G Marine instruments is now doing business as EdgeTech, with offices in Massachusetts
and Florida.
- EG&G sidescan data collected with GeoDAS-PC were processed at 30-cm resolution and
superimposed over the SPOT satellite image in ER Mapper.
ST JOHNS, US VIRGIN ISLANDS
- The Klein 595 sidescan/sub-bottom system was made by Klein Associates, Inc., of Nashua,
New Hampshire.
- Sidescan data were collected by US EPA as part of fish habitat survey.
- 25 lines of mosaic images were created at 20-cm resolution in GeoDAS-Desktop and
collaged together in ER Mapper.
ROCK AREA #3, DELAWARE RIVER, NJ
- The Klein 2000 sidescan system was made by Klein Associates, Inc.,of Nashua, New
Hampshire.
- Data were collected by US Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District.
- Original data stored in Klein format were converted to OIC format and processed in
OIC Toolkit on UNIX.
- Then line-by-line mosaic images (10-cm resolution) were created in GeoDAS-Desktop
and collaged together in ER Mapper.
- AutoCAD DXF file were superimposed over the sidescan image in ER Mapper.
