The Simrad EA Echosounder series are manufactured by Kongsberg Maritime of Kongsberg, Norway. The Simrad EA500 Echosounder is a Single Frequency 12kHz system, with a max power of 2kW, 160dB dynamic range and Transducer 12-16-60 - 16° circular, 60° passive beams.
OIC supports reading water depth from the Simrad EA 500 echosounder via GeoDAS-PC and GeoDAS-LT, over a standard RS-232 serial connection.
